Is Kairos a Mojang or Microsoft product?
No. Kairos is an independent companion platform for Forge modpacks. We don't ship Mojang assets — only protocol, identity, telemetry, and entitlement plumbing. Mojang and Minecraft are trademarks of their respective owners.
Is it just for Vault Hunters?
Vault Hunters is the primary modpack — that's where the realtime vault sync and the rarity ladder come from. But Kairos itself is modpack-agnostic. ATM10, Create: Astral, Better MC, Prominence II are officially supported today; more on the way.
Does Kairos hurt my TPS?
No. The companion runs on a non-game thread and the entire protocol caps at 2048-byte frames with a 500-token rate bucket. We ship a tick.rate.delta telemetry so you can verify it locally.
What does the gateway store about me?
Almost nothing. Just session state for your active connection and an in-memory channel index. License is verified at connect; entitlements come from Polar webhooks. Telemetry is anonymized at the edge. No PII, no IP after 24h, no map coordinates leave your seat.
How do device seats work?
Three seats per license, fingerprinted by OS + CPU + boot ID. Pair via a 4-digit code in-game or scan a QR from the portal. Revoke any seat from Devices → Sessions. Re-verify on IP change is optional.
What's a 'sponsor entitlement'?
A signed claim — issued by Polar when you upgrade, delivered by the gateway when you connect. It carries your tier (Bronze → Gold → Diamond), the cosmetic IDs you've equipped, and a 24h grace window on webhook failure.
Can I run Kairos on a private server?
Yes. The mod is Forge-side; nothing requires a Kairos-owned Minecraft server. The companion link is between your client and our gateway. Server admins see no extra port to open.
Is the protocol stable?
Yes. 11 message types, 5 channel namespaces, 6 error codes — frozen in /docs/PROTOCOL.md. Breaking changes go through a 90-day deprecation window with a remote config flag.
What do the sponsor tiers unlock?
Four paid tiers — Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond — each unlocking a richer cosmetic ladder: cape packs, particle auras, gilded loot, and custom party crests. Higher tiers also add device seats and beta channel access.

The mod and realtime companion are free forever with any Forge install. Sponsor cosmetics are tier-gated across the four paid tiers. No card required to download.
